Voice Notes
Record a quick spoken note and turn it into a draft — handy for maintenance on the go.
Sometimes the easiest input isn't a document — it's just talking. On the Scan page you can record a voice note and Rental Command turns what you said into a draft.
Record a voice note
- Open Scan a Document.
- Click Record voice note and allow microphone access if your browser asks.
- Speak naturally — for example, "The furnace at 12 Oak Street is making a loud banging noise, tenant says it started last night."
- Click Stop recording.
- The app transcribes it and creates a draft for you to review.
Great for maintenance
Voice notes are ideal for capturing maintenance issues while you're standing in front of the problem. The draft opens with the transcript shown alongside the extracted details, so you can confirm it into a work order without typing.
Review and confirm
Like any scan, a voice note becomes a draft first, not a finished record. Open it, pick the property if needed, check the details, and Confirm. See Reviewing drafts.
If recording isn't available
Voice recording uses your device's microphone through the browser. If your browser doesn't support it or mic access is blocked, you'll get a message — just type the note in instead, or use a photo.
