Settings and Notifications

Set up your portfolio details, choose how you get notified, and configure automation and messaging.

The Settings page is where you configure your portfolio and decide how Rental Command keeps you informed.

Portfolio basics

At the top, set your portfolio name, description, management company, time zone, and status. Time zone matters because it drives due dates and when daily messages go out. Click Save Settings when done.

Notification email

Set the email address where notification emails should go. Leave it blank to use your login email.

How you get notified

A simple grid lets you choose, for each kind of update, whether you want it In-app (the bell at the top), by Email, or by Text (SMS). The update types include rent reminders, late fees, lease expiry/renewal, rent confirmations, lease notices, and the daily briefing.

Automation and delivery

Turn on the automations you want and set their timing:

  • Auto-post rent charges (with how many days' lead time).
  • Auto-assess late fees (after a grace period).
  • Lease expiry reminders (how many days before lease end).
  • Send tenant notices — lets automations text/email tenants when set up.

This is also where you enter SignalWire details (Project ID, Space URL, From Number, API Token) to enable text messaging, and set up the daily briefing delivery — whether to send it, the local send hour, and the SMS/email recipients. Provider secrets are stored encrypted. Click Save Delivery Settings.

Messaging defaults

Choose which channels are pre-checked when you send a tenant a new message. The portal inbox is always included; these just set the email/text defaults, and you can change them per message. (Texting tenants requires SMS to be set up.)

Broadcast a notice

Use Broadcast Notification to send an in-app announcement (with a severity) to everyone in the portfolio — for example, "Swimming pool closed today." It shows in their notification bell and tenant dashboard.
